There are some creative ways to save during this time of year, we all know as Back to School. I like to think of this time as lets get back to a routine, organize, and clean out all the junk out of the house. Which so far, I have not personally have done quite yet, and schools here in Oklahoma begin next week!
1. Look in cabnits, drawers, closets, old backpacks for reusable school supplies. Like, red pens, pencils, pens, paper, protractors, rulers, zipper bags, plastic boxes. This could potentially save you a ton of money!
2. Clean out your closets and take items to Consignment sales, or resale shops. Earn a little extra cash, or buy some clothes you need! There are great weekend Consignment Sales coming up in Oklahoma, like Pass it On in Edmond.
3. Online Shopper? Use savings.com to find coupon codes. I use this site when I am already shopping, I go in and search Old Navy, and then Coupons! Great way to save on shipping and get a discount on items you were already planning on purchasing.
4. Pack lunches, your children probably don’t even eat the school food to begin with! That is atleast what I experienced back when I worked in the schools. Children even could get milk free, there would be a ice bin to put already purchased milk in, and if you wanted milk, it was there for others to take for FREE!
Use coupons when shopping for food items, this is always a great thing to do, and really you can save money by using coupons! You can always print coupons here no registration needed!
5. Reuse Backpacks from previous year, I bought my son a really nice heavy duty backpack last year, a little more then I would have normally spent. I bought it using Staples Rewards FREE backpack promotion. I got the money back in form of Staples money, so it was almost like getting it for FREE!
6. Shortly after Back to School sales end, the stores will have to get rid of products left on the shelf. Target will put their items on Clearance for 30% off all the way up to 90% off towards the end of the sale. CVS will do similar sales!
