T.J.Maxx: "Spendervention 2009" and Marshall’s GIft Card Giveaway

by Shannon on June 29, 2009

I was sent 2 Gift Cards, $25 for T.J.Maxx and one for $25 for Marshall’s. I have to be honest, I have not been to T.J.Maxx for a long time, and was eager to go back, it took me awhile to schedule time to hop on in to see what wonderful things they had in store, and let me tell ya, they had a ton of great items… let me list them for you. Clothing includes; Ralph Lauren, Ed Hardy, Seven Jeans, Dooney and Burke and more. Home Accesories, I saw Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, and others. Kitchen wear, included Kitchen Aid items, wine glasses, bar accesories, and tons more. I ended up spending $50 and some change on a much needed dress and 4 bath mats for my master bedroom. A lady in line found a set of matching lamps for $19.99 each after she had just shopped at a local lighting store and found similar ones there for over $200 a piece!

T.J. Maxx is one of my favorite places to go when I need home accesories, I just have not needed anything here lately, but now I have seen the new improved store, and all the great brands they had to offer, I might drive accross town to shop.

I ended up with 4 bathroom rugs, and a dress for right around $50. I was given 2 $25 Gift Cards to go shopping with, but am giving you a chance to win one!

Do you need some cash to shop? How about this, they told me to use the Marshall’s gift card myself or pay it forward. So here is your chance to win a $25 G.C. It will be easy to do. Here are the rules:

Mandatory:

(#2) Here's my latests "savings" story. When I run across something on sale during the year, I put it away for my child's birthday. That way birthdays are not a financial burden. My latests find for the birthday stash was a Holly Hobbie spinning toothbrush (I know it sounds corny, but my 7 year old will love it). It was on clearance simply because the design had been discontinued. It had been marked down to $2.50 from $7. To top that off, I had a $2 coupon for it, so it was only 50 cents!

A TJ Maxx bargin I have found while shopping.. Ohhhh it was the MOST Gorgeous Purse that I had seen in the Big HUGE department store for 4 or 5 times the price~ I could never afford that!
Went to TJ Maxx, and there this little Beauty sat, just waiting for a new home.. so I took her home and I love this Bag!!!

I shop at both Marshalls and TJ Maxx. My daughter bought a prom dress and needed shoes. I did not feel like driving to the mall…and Marshall's is only 10 minutes from my home. They have a wonderful shoe department. She found a nice silver pair of heels for $19.99. A great price since I know she won't be wearing them often.

I'm an avid TJ Maxx shopper haven't been in a while myself due to finances but the last time I went I was looking 4 a cast iron skillet my husband and I had priced them on line and they were running around $40. I asked my husband to let me stop by TJ Maxx to see if they would have one he laughed saying I was only wanting 2get my TJ Maxx fix thinking there was no way I would find one and you guessed it there it was a name brand 12" cast iron seasoned skillet for $12.99. I purchased it and proudly carried it out to my husband boy was he surprised,it was a great I told you so and we all love it when we can get 1 up on our hubbies:) Thanks for the opportunity to try and win a shopping spree 4 me this time.

Hi, here's my TJMaxx bargain, actually there's two!

1- Kathy Van Zeeland purses in those modish colors with studs and chains. I get nothing but compliments on this purse, everywhere i go – never fails! $35. Seen on ebay and other sites for $60 or more.
2- we use a lot of peppercorns for our pepper mill, and they can be very expensive. They have them at TJMaxx all the time for $7.99. Cook stores same 15 oz bottle goes for $12, and if you buy smaller McCormick it's like an ounce for $4.99

Some of my fave bargains from T.J. Maxx is the fabulous plus size clothing. It is very hard to find plus size clothing that does NOT look "frumpy" I can always find something nice at this store.

I have just subscribed to your blog via Feedburner.

Like some of your other commenters, I shop for gifts throughout the year. Some of my best bargains have been on children's books for the nieces and nephews at Half Price Books. Every once in a while, the store e-mails or mails me a coupon for 50% off one item, or 15% off my entire purchase for the day. This has let me get my nieces and nephews two or three new hardcover picture books whereas otherwise I'd only be able to afford one.

My e-mail is stockingstufferaday at gmail dot com. Thanks!

at tj maxx once I purchased an amazing handbag. I don't know how I found it because the place had lowered prices so it was crowded and chaotic but I found it. It was a deep purple and gorgeous and hobo style. Retailed at $498. I got it for around 50 dollars! that is quite a steal I'd say :)

My fav TJ Maxx shopping story is from last easter. Money was tight and I needed to supplement some of the boys clothing so they'd look nice. (5 boys; mixing and matching from years past; still not enough.) So DH headed to get something. I advised him to try TJ Maxx. He came back with a Nautica 3 piece suit for the 5yo and a nices IZOD short set for thebaby…He only spent 32.00, plus dress socks for the others. Trained him well after all, LOL
Thanks for the chance to win!

ooh I forgot in my first post to tell you my TJ maxx story !

My kids gave me a Coach purse from TJ maxx for xmas one year. After a few years the stitching was wearing out so I sent it back to Coach for repair. They sent me a credit voucher for $256.33 off a new purse at Coach. My kids said cool Mom – we only paid $100 ! So , we headed to the Coach outlet to use my voucher and when I was $7 under my voucher price – they handed me the cash back . Gotta love TJ maxx and Coach !

I subscribe to your blog! My T.J.Maxx is combined with a HomeGoods store, so I get the best of both worlds when I shop there! I purchased a beautiful dress from T.J.Maxx for $12.99 that I was able to wear on my trip to the Bahamas last week and then again for a luau birthday party that I threw for my mom on Saturday. I also picked up a new swimsuit, beach bag and shorts for my trip last week. I cannot say enough good things about the bargains at T.J.Maxx! You will save money on great quality and name brand clothing and accessories.

I LOVE TJMaxx & Marshall's for home values. I bought these amazing candles with flowers/leaves in them for a botanical look, at TJMaxx. At the time, I didn't have a place to put them, but knew I loved them. I recently moved to a new rental home, & dug them out. They are placed on either side of my TV, on the entertainment center, & end tables, & really pull the room together. I love getting deals & saving money. They're very high end candles, & I could never have paid full price for them.
