When to Buy a Groupon? I have many friends that are getting into the buying Groupons, and wondering how to spot a good deal when purchasing these Groupons. I love to buy and use Groupons, especially for upscale boutiques I love to shop but hate the price!

When trying to decide to buy a Groupon for Retail Stores and Boutiques consider the median price of the products in which the store sales. For instance if the stores items are in the price range of $75 to $100, and the Groupon is for $50 (you pay $25) you are still out $25 if you buy a $100 purchase, bringing your total savings to only saving 25% off (discount of 25% off). So, in the long run you should really think about your reasoning to purchase these deals.

If you love the store, and shop there regularly and know they have something you want, then in that instance could be a great deal for you!

What I like to do, if time allows, stop by the store I am considering to purchase the Groupon for and then make my decision from there.

When to buy Restaurant Groupons

I love these deals.. however be careful. Sometimes the same Restaurants that advertising through Groupon, do advertising in your local “free” magazines. Like Buy and entree get an entree FREE deals. But on the upside, local restaurants that never do deals.. like for my area Johnnies never does deals, so that Groupon last week was great for me because we eat their often and they never have coupons!
