I have a son. He is going to College. He is going to be far from home. What is he packing? He will have a small dorm room, and he can’t just run home on the weekends to do laundry, get different clothes, or any home items. He will not have a car. He will be using public transportation or the college shuttles. So, as I am going through the list of items to pack, I thought I would share with you my Top 10 Things to Pack for College.
1. Surge Protector
2. Laptop. Many assignments these days are done on the computer, so this is now a must have accessory for college.
3. Mini Fridge
4. Umbrella, so your college student will walk to class in the rain!
5. Proper shoes, like boots, snow shoes, cleats, and athletic shoes. Depending on where the college is located, you will need to be weather aware!
6. PJ’s, good pair of PJ’s Pants for sure!
7. Favorite blanket, pillows and of course those xl twin sheets.
8. Laundry basket, you will need a place to put those dirty clothes, and your room will be cleaner if you put the laundry in the basket.
9. A good pair of Headphones
10. First Aid kit, bandaids, advil, and other meds you may need.
Oh, and a STEP LADDER! Even the tall boys have a hard time getting into their raised bed!
A T.V. Tray. That way they have a portable table to eat on, along with a fold up camping chair. Things we learned during college move in day last week!
Above is just a list of some top items, you may not have thought of. There is a lot more items needed to hit the school year off right!
