National Wildlife Reserve off Highway I-44, like you are going to Lawton take the Medicine Park Exit.
I have lived in Oklahoma all my life, and never knew there were wild buffalos and longhorns in my state!  I thought Longhorns only lived in Texas!
So, if you are out and about Southwest Oklahoma stop by Medicine Park in the Witchita Mountains and check out the animals.

If you are hungry, stop by Meers Burgers. Best darn Longhorn burger I have ever ate!
Don’t GPS this as it might not show up, and they are closed on Tuesdays and close around 8 pm on the other nights. Well that is small town for ya, if Meers is even a town! It is literaly in the middle of nowhere!
The Visitor Center is great as well, with tons of Taxidermy and information. You can even climb Mt. Scott, swim in certain lakes, and according to my now certified scuba son, can catch tons of Bass as Lake Elmer Thomas has tons of Bass!
How Close is it to the City? Probably about an hour from OKC, an 1 hr and 1/2 from Edmond.
Worth the drive? I would say 2 thumbs up!

Our favorite are the prarie dogs! They come right up to you! and the restaurant just east of the one you posted about is great too! We've also rode our motorcycles to the top of Mt Scott numerous times! Amazing view!!!! If you go into Medicine Park there is a motorcycle shop & ice cream shop right next to each other…cute little town!
