I do find myself able to save without using coupons, too. I do love coupons, and finding deals but sometimes I just don’t have the time. So, this is how I can cope. I have a pretty good idea on what things cost, and at what price point. So, if I see something on sale that is a good price with no coupon, I will buy it. Like the time I bought 20 pounds of 85/15 ground beef for $1.77 lb at Sunflower Market. Why? Because ground beef has become really expensive, and we like our beef! So, now when I am doing my weekly shopping beef will not be on the list.
Finding out what the cost is per item is always a good idea as well. Sometimes, larger sized boxed items are a better deal, while other times they are not. Figure out your bottom price for your regular items you shop for on a regular basis. Stores typically have sale cycles every 6 weeks or so. Brands take turns being on sale, one week Pepsi, one week Coke.. if you plan ahead and buy your brand when it is on sale you win. Your sale can be even better with a coupon, but if there is no sale and you have a coupon.. then you aren’t really saving that extra money. You are just making your item on “sale”.

I like to think of myself frugal, but not cheap. Which means I do like good quality items, I just look for way to get items at a great deal! I believe couponing is for anyone and everyone, it is an easy way to save money on things you already use on a regular basis. In 2009, I was picked by Savings.com to be a deal pro. It was such an honor, and I met some great frugal bloggers. I was chosen again for the second year in a row for Savings.com Deal Pro for 2010! During this past year I attend the Disney Moms Social Media event 2010. So far 2010 has been a great year. {
