Beginning of spring, hubby says, we are not growing a garden this year, there is just to much grass growing in our old garden spot from last year. (He made me move my garden spot of 7 years last year, and I fought with the grass all summer) He said we can just grow some items in the pots on the back patio. I was totally fine with that… FAST FORWARD…..
Last weekend my father stopped by, he loves to work in the yard, however his yard is perfect and he has “workers” that help maintain his yard. Plus he has no room for a garden in the mist of his flower beds and immaculate grass. So, he says to my hubby. No garden, oh yes we are. This is a perfect spot, hardly any grass here. So out comes the rote a tiller that I bought at a garage sale years ago, and several hours later, I have a spot for a garden. Oh, I should say, my dad, has a spot for the garden!
Listen to all we planted, 12 tomato plants, 3 rows of potatoes, numerous pepper plants, onions, egg plant and more! We need to get the cucumbers and green beans in as well. Oh, and more tomato plants. I think h wants me and my mom to learn to can tomatoes or something, not really sure yet.
I just hope I remember to water correctly, and help keep the grass out. So, in 100 days I will have potatoes and tomatoes, until then I must be a patient gardening assisstant.
I still want chickens for my “farm” probably will not happen. I have no idea how to take care of chickens. I just would like fresh eggs! I will keep you posted on the progress.
