October: Track my Spending Challenge!

by Shannon on October 4, 2010

October 4, 2010. As we start this new month, I am going to begin tracking my spending. I know I can do this, and thought I would drag my readers along on this adventure. I am not tracking my gas spending, only my spending on items I will purchase. Like Groceries, clothes, and restaurants. This should be interesting.
This will make me think twice before I enter the drive through, Sonic or Starbucks!

So today it begins. The Monthly challenge, save my receipts, clean out the pantry and freezer month. I have been trying to clean out the freezer for months, but I keep buying and stocking up…

I know. . . at the beginning of my coupon adventure (about 3 months in) I was wondering how all the couponers continue to buy and effectively clean out their pantry/freezer. I decided that every 3-4 months I would take a month to pause my blog reading and shopping and only eat what I had at home (of course supplimenting perishables as needed). That was so helpful in making sure that I got to all the food (even way back in the freezer ;) ). I found I spent less than $100 the whole month! Glad you’re doing this! Watching the money is a great incentive.

Thanks for the comment, you did great on spending less then a $100, good job! I am glad I am attempting to do this too. Should be fun.
