Facebook Fans Raise Money for The Children’s Health Fund

by Shannon on April 19, 2010

I was able to attend an online briefing about this wonderful program, Connect Kids to Care. I learned so much, about hardaches that families face when they are unable to have proper medical care for their childern, and how important Connect Kids to Care and the Childern’s Health Fund is to these families. Here is some more information about this wonderful project. Which was started in NYC, with mobile units that travel to different neighborhoods to help children.

Many of us as parents can make an easy phone call to the doctor if we should have a sick child, but people without the proper health care coverage, are unable to provide proper health care for their children.

Stats show, 1 in 5 children in the U.S. live in poverty with millions of children unable to  access to regular check-ups and important doctor’s visits when ill. If important health care visits are missed, then many children go without treatment for even the most common ailments, for example asthma, allergies or cavities, which can lead to bigger problems later on in life if left untreated.

We have a great cause, Children’s Health Fund (CHF), a non-profit organization committed to providing health care to the nation’s most medically underserved children and their families which ha teamed up with Clorox to launch Connect Kids to Care.

As part of Clorox’s commitment to preventive health for families, the company is donating half a million dollars to CHF to help support CHF’s goal of offering half a million health care visits to disadvantaged children across the country, over the next two years.

In addition, Clorox is donating $1.00 for each new ‘fan’ on the Clorox Facebook page, up to $100,000. What an easy way to give, I am sure they will reach this goal in record time!
