Today, Braddock and I went to check out the Disney Train tour, in Downtown OKC. Here are my tips for you if you should decide to go on the tour!
Time: 9am to 7 pm Aug. 21 and Aug. 22, 9am to 4pm on Aug. 23
Place: OKC, Downtown 100 EK Gaylord (Sante Fe Train Depot)
How long: We were through in under an hour. Which was good because we parked in meter parking.
Price: FREE, parking is $6 or $1 with Meter Parking, not a professional downtown customer, but meter parking may not be required for the weekend.
My experience, your experience may vary. When I got to downtown, we parked the car in meter parking, and took the stroller with me, since we had to walk a short block. Little legs do not walk to fast! Once we got there, we were greeted and told to go get a “ticket” (FREE) probably just their way to keep track of visitors. We went into the actual train station, got our ticket, and proceeded to the stairs where we left our stroller, and walked through about 5 train cars. This is what we saw, actual costumes from the original The Christmas Carol, pictures and artifacts. T.V. screens with scenes of the movie, a room where they explained the art of 3D animation and how it is done. Very interesting in my opinion. Then the next room, we made our own images and they were morphed into characters from the movie. Last train, was a fireplace and table of food (fake). Next we walked over to the theater area, where we were given 3D glasses to where. This was the little bit scary part. You know the story of The Christmas Carol, and Ebeneezer Scrooge, he is quite a scary looking guy, and the ghosts were in the short trailer we watched, and the animation and 3D of the movie was amazing. However, scared my 3 yo, and he did not want to watch the movie again! There were lots of children even younger then him in the theater as well. I heard no terrible screams or cries.
