Be Aware When Shopping Black Friday Deals

All the buzz right now is Black Friday deals. All the retail outlets are competing for your full attention, and want you to spend all your money in their stores. Here is some more advise to help you stay within budget this Holiday Season.

DON’T Buy something just because it is a good deal. Ex. a toaster. It is on sale for $3, but do you need it? Do you know someone else that you can give it to now or later this year. If the answer is NO, then don’t buy it because it is a good deal.
Make sure NOT to get caught up in the shopping frenzy, and buy just because everyone else is buying.
Be aware of your surrondings, you want to make sure you don’t become a victim of someone who gets enraged because they did not get one of the 3 Blu/Ray DVD’s that the store had in stock for Black Friday!

Last year I wrote a post of the must do’s when shopping Black Friday. Some people may say STAY AWAY. I have seen trends this year of Stores doing more Early Black Friday Sales to get people in the doors to shop. This year I am going to add a couple more tips and tricks! Don’t forget there is Cyber Monday deals as well. So check out Savings.com for great coupon codes, ask questions and engage in Money Saving Tips with the Deal Pros of 2010.

Smart Phone user? Use your phone to find Coupons for stores you shop. This is a great time saver. Not all stores will honor this method, but more and more stores are offering this option.

Shopping After Holidays: Top 5 Tips for Great Deals

I thought I would give you all some tricks to after the Holidays shopping. As you know, Easter was today, and tomorrow several stores will put items at 50% off tomorrow.

Target, Walgreens, and CVS are good ones that most of the time go 50% off the day after the Holidays.

Here is my top things to look for when shopping.

1. Candy, Candy, Candy.. Use coupons to make these even cheaper.

2. Items like Glad, ziplock, that have the Holiday designs.

3. Toys, yes.. there are toys that go 50% off. Like themed toys that were holiday specific, I have seen legos, (small packs) pototoe head, hand held games and more.

4. Food items, with holiday packaging. Like cookies, chips, and candy sometimes found in odd places through out the store, price check to see if these are marked down.

5. Paper goods, like napkins, paper towels, and paper plates!

Coupons can be matched for even deeper discounts. If you wait for even a few more days after the holidays, the price will drop 75%, and then eventually 90%.

Homeland Shopping: Three Easy Tips to Save You Money on Grocery’s

Here is a look at my shopping trip today. I was able to go early in the morning after I took my son to preschool, and grabbed a few coupons, and wanted to get my total above $25 because I had a coupon from the Thunder Game (the $5/ $25 coupon is found inside the free booklet they pass out when you enter the Ford Center) My plan is to make hamburgers tonight, so I needed to buy meat, buns and milk for sure. You want to know some of my tricks. I am going to share.

1. Buy reduce sale meats. This can save you almost 1/2 off your meat purchase. Homeland grounds their meet fresh everyday, so most mornings there should be meat for sale. Mine I bought was $1.69 for 80/20.

2. Milk and Dairy Reduced sale. My store marks their milk down on Sundays and Wednessdays. .99 or .50 for 1/2 gallon. Just to say milk in a very cold refridgerator will stay good for a few days after expiration date.

3. Use coupons on items you can get cheap or free when able. If you are not going to use the product, then donate to a food pantry or shelter!

Under $10.

Top Ways to Shop More Effective on Black Friday. Hopefully some of these tips will help, so you don’t get overwhelmed while shopping on one of the Busiest days of the year!

1. Shop when you are not tired, cranky or hungry. (leave kids at home, too)

2. Make a LIST, stick to your LIST, as best as you can. List should include, gift ideas, names of people you are shopping for, etc..

3. Check online for coupons, codes, and deals before you venture out. If you are shopping at the Mall, there are normally printable coupons for stores at the Mall. Check the newspapers, too. Macy’s will have coupons 80% off the time it seems.

4. Pack water bottles, snacks, etc.. so you will not have to waste time and money standing in line to get a drink or snack.

5. Check your gift closet of your house, you might have things hanging around in there you have bought through out the year for Christmas gifts for others.

6. Money really tight, think about making gift baskets with food, health and beauty items, or cleaning supplies, you have purchased free or cheap after coupons. You could buy a cute container to use, and decorate, and organize with a big bow to make the gift look interesting.

7. Make sure you are not shopping for yourself… this is about shopping for others. If you see something you like, then write it down and let your family know about where to buy it, find it, etc..

8. Black Friday is not the only day to get deals, the deals have begun early. I was able to get 2 Blu Ray Disney Movies for $13.99 last week, and tons of board games.

9. When you get home, wrap presents, so they will be ready to go. Organize receipts, write down what you bought and for whom. (you might forget what you bought, believe me this will happen at least once)

10. Shop smart.. just because it is on sale, a great deal does not mean you have to buy the item. Especially if you do not need it, want it, or have anyone to give it too. If at all possible, shop using cash only. Write down the dollar amount next to each person you would like to stay budgeted for, you do not want to be paying for this Christmas, next year!

Most of all, remember Christmas’ true meaning. Jesus Birthday.. not about shopping, buying, giving and receiving.

Target: Coupons, Deals, and Helpful Tips

Did you know that Target has Target Coupons? GoHERE to print them off at home, or go to the Kiosk at the store and print them there!

Here is the how 2..

Target Coupons can be used with Manufactures coupons. So remember that helpful tip. Coupons change every 2 weeks, and the coupons do over lap in expiration dates, so I believe you can have a set of 3 different weeks coupons to use over the same time frame.

Target will often have coupons for fruit, veggies, meat, deli and dairy from time to time.

Which sometimes can mean free apples, bananas,grapes, broccoli, cauliflower, and more. Those are some examples of current and past deals.

Another helpful hint is to take advantage of Targets GC deals. When combined with coupons, you can often get name brand items such as Proctor and Gamble, Glade, Pampers and Huggies for really low prices!

Price Adjustments, Target will price adjust items bought within a 2 week period of time to the current sale price, just bring your receipt in to Target‘s Customer service to receive the price difference. (not valid on clearance)

I recently have heard that Target is now price matching, similar to the way Walmart does. Check your local Target to see if they are participating in this promotion.
