Lowes Dishwasher Drama... Continued from the Fall

Oh my, back in the fall when I began blogging, I had a dishwasher dilemma... my latch broke, and my dishwasher would pop open through the cycles, and I would go slam it shut time and time again! Don't worry, I have the solution now, it involves a broom leaning up against dishwasher and my kitchen island! Now, why am I telling you this? Because, my frustration needs to be shared and I need to tell you what my final outcome is months later. So the question is, are warranties worth the cost? My answer is in this instance, yes 100%! Here is the rest of my story.

Finally, after weeks possibly a month or longer, the company came out and removed latch and replaced part. Dishwasher worked fine, until.... end of April 2009. Back to the broom, leaning up against the island.(see pic for visual) Then finally, I called Lowes Warranty 800 number and they sent out someone new out to fix the dishwasher. I requested to not to have the company that came out in the fall because they were hard to get a hold of, unreliable, and took forever, I mean really forever! So, they gave me a new company I am thinking great! But, guess what, this company was worse then the first company I dealt with. Beginning of May, I had the service guy out, said he would order part and then get back to me. Easy, great no problems.... until I could not get them (the service company) on the phone, numbers I had were all nonworking. So I called Lowes back, several times... Finally Lowes called me back, and guess what, they said it would be another 45 days until someone could be back. But wait, it gets really terrific. The lady said, if it was okay with me they would send me full purchase price that I paid for my dishwasher plus tax, to buy a new one! So, off to shop for a new dishwasher I go... boy growing old sure makes you excited to get new appliances, kitchen items, and more! I think I am going to get a Bosch, I have been reading about them online, definitely not getting another Kitchen Aid!

T.J.Maxx: "Spendervention 2009" and Marshall's GIft Card Giveaway

I was sent 2 Gift Cards, $25 for T.J.Maxx and one for $25 for Marshall's. I have to be honest, I have not been to T.J.Maxx for a long time, and was eager to go back, it took me awhile to schedule time to hop on in to see what wonderful things they had in store, and let me tell ya, they had a ton of great items... let me list them for you. Clothing includes; Ralph Lauren, Ed Hardy, Seven Jeans, Dooney and Burke and more. Home Accesories, I saw Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, and others. Kitchen wear, included Kitchen Aid items, wine glasses, bar accesories, and tons more. I ended up spending $50 and some change on a much needed dress and 4 bath mats for my master bedroom. A lady in line found a set of matching lamps for $19.99 each after she had just shopped at a local lighting store and found similar ones there for over $200 a piece!

Micheal Jackson, Farrah, and now Billy Mays

A lot has happened since my last post, about FREE paint! I still cannot believe that all these celebrities, are now not with us anymore. After being away from the computer for the weekend, so much has happened. I pop on the computer today and see Billy Mays, the infomercials guy is now dead, too!

Now, I will share a brief memory, my earliest memory of Micheal Jackson. It was when he made the Thriller video. Apparently, we did not have cable TV, and my moms friend Jan did, so we hopped in the car, and drove to Jan's house. My mom and her friend anxiously awaited to watch the Debut of the Thriller Video as me and my 2 little sisters, hid in the backroom. My mom insisted that I do not watch the video because it would be to scary, so I hid in the other room and listened to the music, and would try to pop my head in to see what all the fuss was about on the TV. I remember being slightly scared of the video, and being over protective of my sisters, to make sure they did not catch a glimpse. So on Thursday, when I found out the news, I called my mom to let her know about his death and told her about my memory. Somehow she had forgotten, but I remember the day. My husband and I then rocked out to Micheal Jackson music all night long, while cleaning out the garage and attic, so we can get our house insultated. I will have to let you know at a later date, if we save any money on our electric bill!

KFC Free Grilled Chicken Meal Rain Check Update

As many of you heard back in May, KFC had a deal with Oprah to feed America, Free Grilled Chicken Meals. Well, with poor planning and the lack of the supply of chicken and more, KFC did not honor thousands of coupons, and had us the customer send in for the rainchecks, well I did. I almost did not do so, but I was not going to let KFC win, and get away with not giving my family the opportunity to recieve the Free Meal! So, anyways, I am happy to say, I got all 4 of my rainchecks to be used in July for my Free 2 pc Grilled Chicken Meals! Thanks KFC!

I have had the opportunity to try the new Caress Skin Wear Collection body scrub gel, and I have to say, it goes on quite silky smooth. The body scrub beads are not to over powering, and just the right amount in my opinion. Weekend Happenings

Just time to chit chat on my blog a bit, let you in on my last few days of drama... I have been busy as a bee. My 16DS is at camp, my 13DS is home with me along with DS3. So, losing one babysitter, not so much fun! I will begin on Friday, my Anniversy of 16 years. It was just another crazy day, and I just reflected on my 16 years of marriage and how fast life has flown by. (Oh, I am so not as old as you think, I got married a week after HS graduation!) So, like I said, I have 3 boys, therefore we had baseball practice that night, because DS13 had a baseball tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
May not sound like much, but 3 games in one day is alot! We ended up winning all 3 games, too. So then there is Sunday, more baseball, but only one game. Did I tell you that this tournament was a benefit tournament? Have I told you I have been wanting a laptop? Well, here is the super fun part.... there was a silent auction for a laptop, and I "won" well not really win, because I had to pay for it, but I called hubby, he was not at the game, he stayed home to mow, and was going to go to the late game if we would have won (we lost). Oh, back to calling hubby, he does not answer, so I text him, he does not answer.... I was needing to tell him I wanted to "win" the laptop and ask him if I could bid on it.. well no answer, I bid, then I "win". So as I type my story, I am using my new HP laptop! Thanks Sam's Warehouse for donating the laptop to the Beigini Foundation, and I am so happy I "won" it! Happy Anniversery to me!
