Top 5 Ways to Start Saving Money With Coupons!

Are you totally freaked out about coupon using. I mean for me, I look at them like money and when my hsuband wants to do a clean up and sees coupon inserts laying around, he makes him crazy and you know what he wants to do… he wants me to throw them away! (he is tossing out money, and I know he would not throw away the real green stuff) Even the unexpired ones! This sounds more like a horror movie then a clean up the clutter day to me.

But really coupons are not scary, they can be used by single moms, single dads, married couples, teenagers, rich people, poor people, people on government assisstance. I mean seriously… ANYBODY that is literate.

Here are some beginner tips:

Don’t be afraid of the cashier, they are human beings not scary monsters. However some become a bit jealous of your savings, some rejoice with you, others think you are taking money out of their paychecks by using coupons. (don’t worry, the store gets reimbursed for coupon value plus .8 from the manufacter so it is okay to use that coupon for item specified as long as that item is what you are buying)
Do you buy cereal? If you answered yes, then start clipping coupons for cereal.
Do you have a baby, and need diapers? If so, then clip those diapers coupons. Don’t buy diapers when they are NOT on sale. Use coupon when on sale and save even more money!
Do you buy Toothpaste? Clip those too. Use when on sale or a store that doubles, and get it FREE!
Do you buy Shampoo etc..? Clip those, and use them. Save even more money..

Put coupons in a baggie, like a ziplock bag, and place in car or purse. You don’t want to forget this when you get to the store.

Do you know how much money a month you can save on these tips alone in a given month?

4 Boxes of cereal ($2)
4 Packs of Diapers ($20)
2 tubes of Toothpaste ($1)
2 shampoo items ($4)

This is how much you would spend on items after coupons and sales drum roll… $27
If you had no coupons, and did not shop sales you would have spent around $70 or so..
This is just scenerios etc.. on how coupons combined with sales can save you money. You would have saved $43, that is a tank of gas, a date night, etc… and it was easy. You do not have to be a super coupon shopper to do this. Just a little extra planning, that is it!

Homeland Shopping Trip Video

Well, it has been sometime since I have produces a shopping video and did pretty well today. My stockpile is over flowing, and I have collected some great items! Here is a little bit about my week. It started out warm and beautiful high of 85 degrees on Monday, worked on getting my vegetable garden started. Then on Tuesday, the weather turned cold, and we were stuck inside the rest of the week. By Thursday, we had SNOW! Really, I am not joking you!

Now it is Friday, and guess what, my 16 yo son took his drivers test. Well being frugal like I like to be, I chose not to be frugal today. Sometimes, time and stress are worth the extra cash! I had the Drivers Ed Teacher take him to take his drivers test, yes it would have been nice to take him myself and enjoy the experience, however sitting in the DMV with a 2 yo and a nervous 16 yo is not my idea of a relaxing morning. So off my son went at 7:30 am to go practice driving, similar to what the driving test would be like, under supervision of a teacher that does not have my bad driving habits. Now I am not a bad driver, I just probably, well I know, do not follow all the rules all the time. So, with that said, he took his test and passed with a 99! WOO HOO… They drove him back to school, and he was I am sure on Cloud 9 for the rest of the day!

Okay, it is the difficult part now. He has his licsence and has a truck waiting for him in the driveway. Now do we let him drive? HECK no… well not because we do not want him to, but we have to get insurance! Did you know for a 16 yo boy, it is probably going to cost us a fortune! Well, hubby did talk to our son, gave him the super dee duper dad talk, and hopefully by the time our son is back from his ski trip with the church, we will have insurance for him and he will be driving himself to school, sports, etc… Shooy…what a day. Oh, remember I still have a 13 yo (says he will not drive with bro) and a almost 3 yo! Boy, I have a long life of changes still to go in my life!

Oh, forgot to say, I did a new youtube video today. Finally went shopping at Homeland. Got some great deals. Totino Rolls, .30, free Yo Plus yogurt, FREE bananas, Free Juice, mustard, cheap bread, and more! Spent under $10 got $60 worth of groceries! YIPPEE!
