Top 5 Ways to Start Saving Money With Coupons!

Are you totally freaked out about coupon using. I mean for me, I look at them like money and when my hsuband wants to do a clean up and sees coupon inserts laying around, he makes him crazy and you know what he wants to do… he wants me to throw them away! (he is tossing out money, and I know he would not throw away the real green stuff) Even the unexpired ones! This sounds more like a horror movie then a clean up the clutter day to me.

But really coupons are not scary, they can be used by single moms, single dads, married couples, teenagers, rich people, poor people, people on government assisstance. I mean seriously… ANYBODY that is literate.

Here are some beginner tips:

Don’t be afraid of the cashier, they are human beings not scary monsters. However some become a bit jealous of your savings, some rejoice with you, others think you are taking money out of their paychecks by using coupons. (don’t worry, the store gets reimbursed for coupon value plus .8 from the manufacter so it is okay to use that coupon for item specified as long as that item is what you are buying)
Do you buy cereal? If you answered yes, then start clipping coupons for cereal.
Do you have a baby, and need diapers? If so, then clip those diapers coupons. Don’t buy diapers when they are NOT on sale. Use coupon when on sale and save even more money!
Do you buy Toothpaste? Clip those too. Use when on sale or a store that doubles, and get it FREE!
Do you buy Shampoo etc..? Clip those, and use them. Save even more money..

Put coupons in a baggie, like a ziplock bag, and place in car or purse. You don’t want to forget this when you get to the store.

Do you know how much money a month you can save on these tips alone in a given month?

4 Boxes of cereal ($2)
4 Packs of Diapers ($20)
2 tubes of Toothpaste ($1)
2 shampoo items ($4)

This is how much you would spend on items after coupons and sales drum roll… $27
If you had no coupons, and did not shop sales you would have spent around $70 or so..
This is just scenerios etc.. on how coupons combined with sales can save you money. You would have saved $43, that is a tank of gas, a date night, etc… and it was easy. You do not have to be a super coupon shopper to do this. Just a little extra planning, that is it!

Homeland Shopping Trip Video

Well, it has been sometime since I have produces a shopping video and did pretty well today. My stockpile is over flowing, and I have collected some great items! While at Homeland today, I was given a pink flyer, with $25 Manufacturer coupons that expire on October 31, 2009 for Breast Cancer Awareness month. So, be on the lookout for that flyer!

Do you like your Coke? Diet Coke? I have to admit, we drink a little to much of this product and I only like to buy when I can get them for $2.50 a 12 pack or less. I have noticed this is getting harder to come by these days!

So here is my new deal!

The Coke deal is great this week at CVS.

Buy 3 / $10 get $2 ecb…

Use 3 $1 off coke reward coupons (35 points for 2 seperate bricks coupons for $1 off)

That makes the coke essentially 3/$5 after coupons and ECB’s.

Plus you will have more coke reward points to print off more coupons! Repeat deal, except you will not get $2 ECB the second time because you would have already reached limit.

Use a coupon from September 28 Smart Source insert, and get BOGO free, and get 2 $4 catalinas! You can roll these and use one $4 to pay for your next 2, and pay only $1.50 for your next transaction and get another $8 in catalinas! (however you did use 1 of your original $4 catalina) This deal goes on through the beginning of November!

Shopping Trip to Homeland and more…..

I had a totally crazy week. Started my Home Management Binder schedule, did not do that great! Will be trying harder to stay on task next week.

I did make homemade meatballs, lasagna, and chicken and dumplings this week! My family was pretty excited for the homemade meals.

I went shopping tons at Homeland this week, I will show you a picture of all I got today with my coupons! My total before coupons was $123.00, and I paid $11.84 and still have a catalina for $4. Which for some reason expires tomorrow, so guess where I will be going… Homeland. My friend Melissa and I had a great time. Our husbands should be so proud, we so enjoy all the good deals we find when we shop together. It is good to have friends!

I went to Walgreen’s by myself, and got 10 oust, more robitussion, Crest pro health and some mm’s. I ended up spending $12! Got $24.50 in RR back. So not to bad. Tomorrow walgreens is having some great deals for RR, so I will be going back to Walgreens again tomorrow!
